February 2012 Meeting

For February (02/15/12)-

February's focus was our Annual Dining Out Gluten Free: Executive Chefs Panel! Many of us worry about our safety when dining out with our families and friends. We had top chefs and/or owners from PF Chang's, The Melting Pot, Chelsea's Kitchen, Tryst Cafe, and award-winning Citizen Public House talk to us about how they work with our restrictions and make delicious food safe for us to enjoy. Danell from Danell's Signature Mixes brought an array of delicious baked goods for us to try and introduced us to her products. We also were provided with many samples from Applegate Farms, Bakery in Main, including their new Truebar line, Katz Gluten Free, New Grains Bakery, and Elisabeth Hasselbeck's No Gii Bars. The samples were incredible! Look forward to more amazing samples like this at our upcoming meetings. Chandice announced the exciting launch of our group's new website http://arizonaceliac.org! All transitions will be taking place over the next month. Our old website will remain up in the meantime. To wrap up the night, we had drawings for a prize pack of Danell's Signature Mixes, one of every mix for the winner, and cookies from New Grains Bakery! Thank you, Danell, for being so incredibly generous. We just adore you!


We saw a lot of new members this month, so we would like to say a special welcome to you! We hope to see you again soon and get to know you as we all learn how to be healthy and stay healthy together!

Please note that our meeting was held in a different room due to an accidental double booking. We will be back in our usual large room with a full kitchen next month.
